FST Media opens Singapore office with Myles
FST Media has announced the opening of its first international office in Singapore, appointing Glen Myles to the role of Regional Director.  Myles moves to lead the Singapore office after two years with FST Media in Australia as Sales Director. He will be responsible for driving business development with FST Media’s valuable client base that targets senior technology and business decision makers within the region.  The expansion reinforces FST Medias commitment to technology and business executives in financial services in Asia, and follows a number of successful events including the Technology & Innovation the Future of Banking & Financial Services conference and roundtables in Singapore and Hong Kong customers.

APC appoints Kirker Sales Director ANZ +announces two regional hires
APC by Schneider Electric, leader in integrated critical power and cooling services, announced this week the appointment of Andrew Kirker as Pacific Sales Director for Australia and New Zealand. The appointment is a reflection of the ongoing expansion of the data centre market in Australia and New Zealand, with the role focusing on addressing customers’ key business drivers such as increasing energy efficiencies and decreasing costs in data centre operations. Kirker commented: “APC is a very solid business and is one of the leaders in critical power and cooling in ANZ. The next couple of years promise to be filled with growth opportunities as demand for data centre capacity increases.

APC also announced two regional appointments:

  • Neil McKinnon, APC NSW Branch Manager , who brings 12 years’ experience in senior sales roles in Australia, five of them at APC.
  • Simon Smith, Regional Manager for New Zealand and the South Pacific, who will address the local market’s demand for more energy efficient power and cooling equipment and brings an extensive range of expertise and experience to the NZ operation from 20 years working in sales and technical roles with both vendor and channel partners.

CPT Global appoints Peters GM Southern Region
Technical IT consulting organisation CPT Global has given Brian Peters the position of General Manager Southern Region, with responsibility for the Victorian market. A former executive at Terra Firma Business Consulting, Deloitte and ANZ Bank, Peters took his position up on June 15th. Gerry Tuddenham, Managing Director of CPT Global Limited, said: “Brian’s knowledge of the professional services sector of the IT industry, his business development experience and overall general management capabilities are exactly what we require to enhance CPT’s market position in Victoria.”

Entity Solutions appoint Wilkin QLD State Manager
Entity Solutions, professional engagement services company, has appointed Bryan Wilkin as Queensland State Manager based in Brisbane. Wilkin will be responsible for growing Entity Solutions’ business in QLD, supporting the existing customer base and ensuring the smooth running of the state operations. He will work closely with the company’s executive team in the Melbourne head office to implement a strong growth strategy. Wilkin brings business development, account management and relationship building experience to Entity Solutions. In his most recent role at Computershare, Wilkin was the Relationship Manager where he was responsible for relationship and account management, as well as delivering sustainable communication projects for the company and its clients.

Pure Hacking expands security consulting team
Pure Hacking, specialist information security consultancy  has confirmed the appointment of two new security experts and the establishment of a new Strategic Security Practice. The new hires, Jonathan Carter, Principal Security Consultant and Head of Strategic Security, together with David Muscat, Senior Security Consultant will be responsible for security and governance consulting reviews against systems, networks, devices and applications for clients across a variety of industry sectors. Rob McAdam, CEO for Pure Hacking said: “We are very happy to be expanding our team at this crucial time and strengthening our focus on Strategic Security with the formation of a new Practice area. Australian organisations today are very cognisant of the responsibilities and risks in data management and security and we need to ramp up our team numbers and skill base to meet this demand.” Jonathan Carter, Principal Security Consultant, has over five year’s in-depth experience in security roles here in Australia and the USA. Jonathan is joining Pure Hacking to lead the recently formed Strategic Security Practice for the company. David Muscat held senior security consulting and security architect and designer roles at Commonwealth Bank, PureSec and security software vendor, Symantec. With a B.Sc. in Computing Science and Diploma, Information Technology Professional Practice (UTS), David is also certified ISC2 – CISSP.

Wavelink appoints Simon Storey ANZ Sales Manager
Wavelink has appointed Simon Storey Simon Storey as its territory sales manager for Australia and New Zealand. Storey brings 14 years of experience with mobility solutions in transportation & logistics, retail, field service, warehousing and hospitality. Storey will work closely with existing partners and develop new partnerships in order to facilitate their growth and to strengthen the customer experience. He will provide a solutions-oriented approach and capitalize on the flexibility Wavelink provides with on-premise, on-demand and managed services offerings. His experience includes full profit and loss management, business development and software development with companies such as Intermec Global Solutions and Agility Systems

Sims appointed President of Sybase 365
Sybase, an SAP company (NYSE: SAP) an industry leader in enterprise and mobile software, has appointed John J. Sims as president of its mobile services business – Sybase 365, effective July 1. Sims served previously as CEO of 724 Solutions, a company that engages in the design, development, marketing and support of mobile internet/mobile broadband products for use by mobile network operators worldwide. He was also co-founder, CEO and president of TANTAU Software, Inc., a global provider of high volume, secure, mobile eCommerce solutions to enterprises. Sims will replace Marty J. Beard, who is leaving Sybase to pursue other endeavours.
